Wireless Social 2008
10/13/08

From September 24th to 26th, Superior Communications hosted a 3-day gathering of industry professionals comprised of representatives from leading wireless accessory brands and top wireless retailers. The event — Wireless Social 2008 — allowed both groups to come together for an informal yet valuable series of presentations and discussions regarding future commerce opportunities.

The event kicked off in Los Angeles at the Pacific Palms Resort where guests arrived for check-in and a brief welcome reception. The following day began with a morning session that featured presentations by Nokia, Samsung, SanDisk, RIM, BlueAnt®, and Aliph (Jawbone®).

These vendors introduced retailers to key information regarding:
  • New products
  • Forthcoming product launches
  • 1st Quarter 2009 marketing and channel specific concepts/ideas

During the afternoon session, customer groups were escorted through individual vendor conference rooms where each vendor was able to go into more detail about upcoming promotions as well as addressing specific customer needs.

In addition to mingling and dancing, all guests were invited to take part in Superior sponsored activities, such as:

  • Sampling of first-rate wines and cigars in the High Roller lounge
  • Casino games where winners received a $100 or $200 gift card

Additional giveaways during the dinner event were generously donated by Cory Haley of RIM, which included a BlackBerry Bold handset and BlackBerry Remote Stereo Gateways.

The third and last day of Wireless Social 2008 saw all guests collectively transported to Superior Communications in Irwindale, California for a Mini Expo that showcased various wireless accessories from Bluetooth® headsets to innovative carrying solutions.

A presentation by Claritas (a Neilson Company) kicked off the day. Anthony Ciani of Claritas presented an in-depth look at the value of market research and location analysis for targeting the right consumer segments with accessory offerings and wireless plans. The knowledge base is available to all Superior customers for any given trade area in major US metropolitan areas. (Proprietary data from Superior’s primary research effort; contact your Superior Sales Representative for more details.)

A host of instructive materials was also provided to our customers to give them an in-depth look at Superior’s daily operations.

    This included:
  • Facility tours
  • Training session demo by a Sales Support Field Representative

The event came to an end at noon and all guests were given the option to return to the hotel either for departure or to hit the links on the Pacific Palms Resort golf course — Los Angeles’ only 4-star rated, 36-hole course.

Superior would like to give special thanks to RIM, Nokia, Samsung, SanDisk, BlueAnt®, and Aliph for the contributions they made to Wireless Social 2008. Their valued participation made this event a great success and their involvement is greatly appreciated.

Additional thanks to our valued vendors who supported, but were unable to attend: Plantronics®, Jabra, Motorola, and Kyocera. We hope to see all of you at Wireless Social 2009!
