Environmental Stewardship
As a supplier to major global corporations, Superior has been brought to the forefront of the drive to develop products and packaging with minimal environmental impact.
Many of our electrical products manufactured within the past two years meet Europe’s leading standards for the Restriction of the use of Hazardous Substances (RoHS). We have begun to audit our overseas factories to bring awareness and environmental standards to our partners in Asia, and will expand this effort to more of our suppliers, domestically and abroad in 2008.
"Superior has been brought to the forefront of the drive to develop products and packaging with minimal environmental impact."
Headquartered in California, which recently passed some of the most aggressive laws in the nation related to sustainable packaging, we have completed Lifecycle Assessments on most of our packaging materials. This includes review not only of the plastics and paper used, but the effect of the manufacturing processes themselves. The result will be a newly-designed packaging line, varying in both form and materials, in 2008.
In addition to our commitment to distribute green products and packaging globally, we have implemented a comprehensive recycling program within our own walls. This includes conservation light switches, a full waste recycling program, and employee education that encourages lifestyle changes at work and at home.
