As founder and CEO of Superior Communications, Solomon Chen was invited to participate in a panel discussion at the 2008 National Minority Enterprise Development (MED) Week in Washington, DC on September 3rd. The MED is the nation’s largest federally sponsored conference whose purpose is to assist minority entrepreneurs and business enterprises.
As part of the theme for this year’s conference, “The Power of Strategic Alliances in the Global Economy,” a panel discussion was held featuring five of the nation’s foremost minority business leaders. Serving as one of the five panelists, Solomon shared how the formation of strategic partnerships helped further the growth of his own business from a small US distribution arm of a Taiwan-based importer into the nation’s leading distributor of wireless accessories.
Having received a 2007 Certificate of Appreciation from the US Department of Commerce for his dedication and support of the minority business community, Solomon was honored to participate in such an important and meaningful discussion among such a distinguished group of business leaders. He hopes the advice and insight shared between the panelists will prove beneficial to the future growth and competitiveness of minority owned businesses.
Other session panelists included Robert L. Wallace, author, Strategic Partnerships; Charito Kruvant, President & CEO, Creative Associates International, Inc.; Carlton L. Highsmith, President & CEO, Specialized Packaging Group, Inc.; and Ranjini Poddar, President, Artech Information Systems, LLC.
